About the Artist

Here at my shop, JeanC Studio, I celebrate the often bold, often simple, and always colorful essence of nature with products for your home and beyond. I’m a surface pattern designer— that means I create artwork that repeats in a pattern. I imagine that you’ve seen patterns everywhere in your life— on wallpaper, wrapping paper, upholstery, quilting fabric, apparel and more!

All of my products are sustainable. So, what does that mean?

If something is sustainable, it means that a single aspect of it is good for the environment — not necessarily everything about the product. Unfortunately, when it comes to making products, everything has some sort of negative impact on the environment. Some types of manufacturing involves high water usage, energy and product waste, for example, and that means there really aren't any products that fit the dictionary definition of eco-friendly.

I sell products through Print on Demand - that, in itself is a sustainable option because nothing is produced until a customer orders my products.

I started my sustainability journey a few years ago. It’s a process, not a destination. When I started JeanC Studio, I made the decision to offer only products I consider to be sustainable. Hours and hours were spent researching the products that print on demand companies offer. I hope you’ll like what you see here— illustration and pattern designs and rich color palettes on a variety of sustainable products meant to create a path between the indoor and outdoor you.
